One Life Left

The story

I left the lake with the windows down and the morning sun like a golden crown, Nova singing from the dash and Clay asleep beside me. In the Alpine glass I saw all the lives I had lived before, packed in boxes, some with love and some with war. Every one of them had to end so this one could start. I'm not the man I used to be, and I'm not the ghost they tried to keep. One life left is not a warning; it means I'm finally at the wheel.

Lyrics

🔥 SONG TITLE: “One Life Left”
Album: The Bonfire Chronicles
Mid-tempo acoustic core with ambient pads, light synth textures, and a driving heartbeat rhythm.
Inspired by Holocene (Bon Iver), The Night We Met (Lord Huron), Drive All Night (Springsteen), and Motion Picture Soundtrack (Radiohead).
This song isn’t about starting over — it’s about arriving. With tears, truth, and tenderness.
It’s the ride back from a place that almost healed you… but not quite.
It’s a final inhale before the last fire.

Left the lake with the windows down
Morning sun like a golden crown
Radio hums a familiar sound
But the silence speaks the loudest now

All the lives I lived before
Packed in boxes, memories stored
Some with love, and some with war
Some I walked, and some I swore

And I’ve got one life left
One last flame in my chest
One more road, one more breath
To give it all to what is left
Not the man I used to be
Not the ghost they tried to keep
But in the rearview I can see
Every death set my soul free

Saw myself in the Alpine glass
A thousand masks, a shattered past
Nova singing from the dash
Clay asleep, time slipping fast

Letters burned and bridges gone
Still I’m here, still moving on
And though the map is torn and worn
The fire in me is reborn

And I’ve got one life left
One last flame in my chest
One more road, one more breath
To give it all to what is left
Not the man I used to be
Not the ghost they tried to keep
But in the silence I can see
Every wound became my key

Some find heaven in a plan
I found it falling, standing up again
In every breakdown, every bend
Was just the start, not the end

So I’ve got one life left
One true love I haven’t met
One more fire, one sunset
To remind me not to forget
All the lives that led to this
All the wrongs I tried to fix
And if I vanish in the mist
Know I lived — and that’s the gift

Lights are low, the night is near
But I’ve never seen so clear
Not alone, just finally real
One last life — and I’m at the wheel
