The Bonfire Chronicles · track 9 of 11

Bonfire Chronicles

The story

I woke to embers and light on the lake, steam from a mug, trunks still damp from a jump at dawn. Someone I love was still asleep in the tent, and I thanked the road for every cent I never spent. They sold me a version of me I never became; the road and the fire gave me a name instead. You don't need a crown to know you survived. Woodsmoke, a dog and someone who stays is a whole life.

Lyrics

🔥 SONG TITLE: Bonfire Chronicles

Woke up to embers and light on the lake
Steam from a mug, a back that won’t break
Trunks still damp from a jump at dawn
I sat in the silence the world forgot

No gold on my wrist, no plans on my plate
But the fire still burned — that old silent faith
And someone I love was still in the tent
So I thanked the road for every cent I never spent

This is the life I was dying to live
No city crown, no need to forgive
Just woodsmoke, a dog, a cold swim to start
No need for more when you’ve got the heart

This is the way I was meant to unfold
Not bought or sold, just weathered and bold
Singin’ old songs with someone who stays
These are my Bonfire Chronicles days

No mirror, no mask, no title to hold
Just stories I carry and truths I was told
A hand on my chest, a laugh in my throat
A whisper from flame, a scribbled note

We drank from the bottle, we grilled in the rain
Made love like the world would never explain
And I thought to myself as the fire cracked wide —
You don’t need a crown to know you survived

They sold me a version I never became
But the road, the fire — they gave me a name
Not Roman. Not man. Just soul in a frame
And here in the silence, I’m whole just the same

This is the life I was dying to live
No score to settle, no guilt to forgive
Just bare feet and songs and one sunrise a day
And someone beside me who chooses to stay

This is the way I was born to belong
No riches, no thrones — just rhythm and song
So write it in ash and let memory blaze
These are my Bonfire Chronicles days

These are my Bonfire Chronicles days...
My Bonfire Chronicles days...
