You Don't Deserve Me

The story

I cleaned the mess nobody saw and held the house when I was left to hold it. I was told I was too much truth, and for a long time I believed it. This is the angriest song I ever wrote, and I let it be angry. Love without respect is not love. Knowing your worth is not cruelty, and someone is on her way who will see it.

🔥 “You Don’t Deserve Me”

Album: The Bonfire Chronicles

I cleaned the mess you wouldn’t see
I held the house when you left me
You danced in storms, I built the roof
And still you called me too much truth

I gave and I gave
You played and you strayed
You said I was broken
But I’m just made brave

You don’t deserve me — not my time, not my name
Not the fire that walked through every flame
You don’t get to say you miss my light
When all you fed me was silent nights
Yeah, I stayed. I bled. I loved too real.
But you?
You don’t deserve the man I am still.

You wanted soft, but not too deep
A heart to kiss, but not to keep
You mocked the weight I carried through
Now you wear regret like perfume

I bled in rooms they danced through
Paid the tab while they ran loose
Held my breath while they blamed me
Now I talk sharp — flameproof.

They want kings with soft eyes
Who don’t cry when the dog dies
They want love like a weekend
But I gave them years — no lies.

You don’t ghost a man who builds
Don’t cheat on hands that healed
Don’t mock the one who stayed
While you spun the goddamn wheel.

You broke real ones for sport
Then lit candles when it hurt
Said “He’s too much,” but called when it burned
Guess what — I don’t return.

You made us villains
To hide your guilt
But we were kings
Before you split.

You don’t deserve me — not this skin, not this spine
Not the eyes that saw through every lie
You don’t get to cry when I walk away
You made that bed. You burned that day.
Yeah, I’m done. I’m clear. I see the deal.
And baby…
You don’t deserve the man I am still.

But someone does.
And she’s on her way.
