Never Too Late

The story

I saw the fire go dim in men I admired. They didn't die, they just got tired. Then one morning I woke with ash in my hands and heard the flame whisper my name, not loud, just enough. If I go tomorrow, I want to go with soot on my hands and something real in my veins. It's never too late to light the match.

Lyrics

🔥 SONG TITLE: "Never Too Late"

Album: The Bonfire Chronicles
Guitar + heartbeat rhythm + slow rising strings.
Think: Nick Cave, Ben Howard, Jon Hopkins (stripped).
This song is not about regret. It’s about awareness.
It’s not melancholy. It’s reverent.

I saw the fire go dim in men I admired
They didn’t die — they just got tired
Fell into comfort, kissed the screen
Let the boy in their chest go unseen

But I woke up with ash in my hands
Years behind me like forgotten plans
And I heard the flame whisper my name
Not loud — just enough to light the shame

It’s not too far gone
It’s not too far gone

It’s never too late to burn again
Never too late to lose and win
To write the song, to change the script
To curse the smoke and take the hit
It’s never too late to bleed with pride
To walk through fire, not just hide
To light the match, and watch it dance
It’s never too late for one last chance

I buried men who breathed regret
Wrote poems they never dared to let
But I, I’m not waiting on the past
I’m striking stones — I want the blast

If I die tomorrow, I’ll smell like flame
Not cologne or comfort or someone else’s name
I’ll go with soot on my hands
And something real in my veins

It’s never too late to face the night
To strip the lies and own the fight
To take the fire like a kiss
And say, “I burned for all of this.”
It’s never too late — no need to run
Just light the match…
And let it come.

Never too late.
Never too late.
