The Bonfire Chronicles · track 10 of 11

Me, Myself, and I

The story

I've burned to the ground more times than I can count, and every rise felt like the last round. I don't run from the shadow I cast anymore. The man in the glass has worn the crown and carried the mask, and I've seen the fight in him on his quietest days. Me, myself and I, rolling through the night. Being alone stops being lonely the day you become good company.

Lyrics

I’ve burned to the ground more times than I can count
Every rise feels like the last round
Ash on my hands, fire in my eyes
I’ve made peace with the Phoenix in disguise

And I don’t run from the shadow I cast
Every mile I drive leaves another in the past

Me, myself, and I
We’ve been rolling through the night
Every scar a map, every wrong a right
Me, myself, and I
We’re the storm and we’re the sky
Living free, no need to justify

You, yeah you, staring back in the glass
You’ve worn the crown and you’ve carried the mask
But I’ve seen the fight in your quietest days
The way you still choose to walk your own way

And I don’t run from the shadow I cast
Every mile I drive leaves another in the past

Me, myself, and I
We’ve been rolling through the night
Every scar a map, every wrong a right
Me, myself, and I
We’re the storm and we’re the sky
Living free, no need to justify

They’ll say he was stubborn, they’ll say he was free
A man of the road, chasing more than he could see
With a dog at his side and the wind on his face
He turned every wrong turn into a sacred place

Me, myself, and I
We’ve been rolling through the night
Every scar a map, every wrong a right
Me, myself, and I
We’re the storm and we’re the sky
Living free, no need to justify
Me, myself… and I
